How data is handled

Who is responsible

Summitcloudyorchrd Cycling Media Ltd, 7 Rowan Court, Cambridge CB4 2LF, United Kingdom, company no. 14639082, is responsible for personal information handled in connection with this website and its editorial correspondence. Contact [email protected] for privacy enquiries.

Reading the website

The site does not require an account and its supplied code does not use advertising pixels, behavioural analytics or third-party embeds. Loading a page necessarily sends technical information, such as your IP address, requested resource, browser headers and request time, to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting providers may process access and security logs to deliver and protect the service.

Our purposes are website delivery, fault investigation and abuse prevention. Where personal data is involved, we rely on legitimate interests in operating a secure, accessible information service, subject to your rights and reasonable expectations.

The contact message tool

Information entered into the contact tool remains in the current browser page. The tool constructs a preview in memory; it does not submit the entries to a server, store them in local storage or automatically send email. Copying uses your browser’s Clipboard API when available. Downloading creates a plain-text file on your device. Your operating system, clipboard synchronisation settings and downloaded-file storage are outside this site’s control.

If you choose to email us, we receive your email address, message, supplied name and any attachments or technical details you include. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens or unnecessary health information. Remove private start and finish locations from ride files before sharing.

Correspondence, sharing and retention

We use correspondence to respond to enquiries, evaluate corrections and maintain relevant editorial records. Our usual legal basis is legitimate interests in responding and improving the publication; legal obligations may also require some records. We do not sell contact information.

Hosting and email service providers may process information on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to protect legal rights. Where international transfers of personal data require safeguards under applicable law, appropriate transfer mechanisms must apply.

Routine correspondence is normally retained for up to 12 months after the enquiry closes, unless a correction record, unresolved matter or legal requirement justifies longer retention. Technical logs should be retained only as necessary for operational and security purposes. A downloaded message remains on your device until you remove it.

Local preferences

The optional preference controls on the Cookies page save only a preference value in your browser’s local storage. This is not a contact record or a tracking identifier. The current site does not enable optional tracking when you choose Accept. You can clear the preference at any time.

Your rights and concerns

Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify a request.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another relevant supervisory authority. Please contact us first if you would like us to address a concern directly.

External websites and changes

Following an external reference takes you to a separate service with its own policies. We do not control those services. This notice may be updated when the website’s practices change; the effective date identifies the current version.
